Lucky Dog Books currently has two used bookstores in Dallas, Texas. They are open 7 days a week from 10-9 Monday through Saturday and 12-7 on Sundays, and welcome your phone inquiries. If you have a gift certificate or credit on file from bringing trade-ins to either of these or to Paperbacks Plus in Mesquite, you may use it at either store. One is in North Oak Cliff.
The other one is in the Lockwood area of East Dallas at 10801 Garland Road; and its phone number is (214) 827-4860. It is about a mile northeast of White Rock Lake near the old Lochwood Shopping Center which has been rebuilt to accommodate the Home Depot for this area among many other shops.
You can reach this store from the old Lakewood store (a little over 5 miles away) by taking La Vista east to Gaston Avenue and coming further east on it until it feeds into Garland Road just south of White Rock Lake. Take the merge to the left and continue northeast a little over 3 miles until you come to us on the left side of the road just past where Centerville Road deadends into Garland Road just past Easton, Peavy and Buckner.
If you are coming from any direction that I-30 is close to, take it until you're about 2 miles east of Downtown Dallas and exit on E. Grand Avenue. You'll take E. Grand to the northeast about 5 miles until you come to us on the left side of the road just past where Centerville Road deadends into Garland Road just past Easton, Peavy and Buckner. Of course, if you are in Garland or northeast of there, you can just come down Garland Road or its northern extension until you find us on the right hand side of the street a few long blocks past Jupiter Road, just beyond the Casa Linda Bakery and Tran Computers.
Or you can reach this store from the north and/or weat by coming east and southeast on 635 and taking a right turn first on Jupiter Road, and then another right on Garland. And then as just above. And lastly, if you aren't that far north, you can take Northwest Highway to Jupiter and then turn south and follow the directions just above.
(Please note that E. Grand Avenue will change its name to Garland Road along the way, but there are no "splits" or "Y's" to worry about.)
