The Texas Western Swing and Light Crust Doughboys Hall of Fame and Museum was located in the old McWhorter Greenhaw Hardware building at 105 S. Broad Street in downtown Mesquite, Texas. One could still order and buy many hardware, appliance and musical items there as well as all the available Doughboys related materials when it was renamed "A Memory Found, An Antique Marketplace" around 1997.
McWhorter Greenhaw Hardware was one of the most interesting stores one could visit. Not only was it a Mesquite institution for over 50 years since it was begun by Fred Arthur McWhorter in 1943, the latest generations of owner/musicians, father and son, Frank and Art Greenhaw were well on the way to making it a Texas landmark with the addition of this historic attraction.
Having won the "Family Business of the Year Award" for 1995, from the Hankamer School of Business Institute for Family Business at Baylor University, the store got some of the recognition is so justly deserved for community involvement, and music was been a big part of this contribution to Mesquite for many years.

Art who is a current member of the Light Crust Doughboys, which toured Austria in late 95 for the first time, taking a big dose of Texas music across the pond, and was nominated for a Grammy, has long been involved with Texas music including the Mesquite Opry, also on Heritage Square in Mesquite,as well as the Mesquite Folk Music Festival of the mid-80's.
Sometime after the passing of Art's father, the hardware store and museum went away, but it looks like Art Greenhaw and Family are re-establishing historic McWhorter-Greenhaw and its landmark building on the downtown Mesquite, Texas Heritage Square as a Greenhaw Records' music center, musical instrument distributor, office complex and gallery/showroom.
